The idea for the Micronauts came from a line of toys popular in the late 1970s. In doing this series, Marvel had the chance to make a really terrible comic book, but somehow resisted the opportunity. Instead, the Micronauts was a surprisingly strong series which brought a whole new dimension, the "Microverse," to the Marvel Universe.

The Micronauts chronicles the struggle of a band of freedom fighters as they battle the empire’s "dog-soldiers" and the dread Baron Karza. Taking place in a microcosmic world somehow located within our own, the six rebels battle against impossible odds, in a war that occasionally spills over into our own dimension. - ComicBase™ 7.0.
